From Cabo Prior to Punta Frouxeira there are several coastal sandbanks: Doniños and Esmelle in Ferrol or Frouxeira and Pantín in Valdoviño are interesting enclaves during migration to look for waders among the accumulations of seaweed. There is no shortage of sandpipers and tridactyls, stonecroppers and piping plovers. In winter it is the large waders that dominate these beaches, resting in large groups formed by yellow-legged, black-legged, herring gulls and kittiwakes: the beaches of Pantín and Meirás are ideal for observing them.
