Chamorro Route

Discover scenic mountain biking routes featuring stunning coastal views, historical sites, and vibrant nature, perfect for adventure and exploration.

In Ferrolterra, lovers of mountain biking will be delighted to discover culture, nature and gastronomy as they ride through seven routes designed for us to enjoy. In Esmelle, you will find the mountain biking centre offering seven circular routes marked with buoys to indicate the level of difficulty. These routes run along the coast and valleys and lead to places of interest such as Cabo Prior and its crevices, the beaches of Doniños, San Xurxo, Ponzos and Santa Comba, the castle of San Felipe, the mills, the restored ancient lavatories of San Xoan de Esmelle or the sanctuary of Chamorro (16th century). CHAMORRO Chamorro is a small hill in the northwest of Ferrol, populated by low vegetation and from which you can have a beautiful panoramic view of the Ferrol estuary and the Serantes valley. In it stands on several granite blocks and integrated with some of them, the hermitage of the Virgen de Chamorro, also called Nuestra Señora del Nordés, patron saint of the seas of Ferrol. There is no exact dating, but it is believed that the hermitage is from the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century. The route is primarily intended for mountain biking, but can also be done on foot. 70% of it runs along a forest track and trails and 30% on asphalt.
