SANTA AMALIA HOUSE

SANTA AMALIA HOUSE

This majestic house features colonial architecture, a grand teakwood gallery, and a chapel, making it a prime venue for festivals and social events.

[1919] Eclecticism It was commissioned by the Redeño emigrant in Havana Luciano Rojo López to the local master José Calvo, following the plans of the architect Juan Villaamil from A Coruña. The colonial influences are evident in the wide side porch on the left façade, with a long teakwood gallery supported by columns. On the main façade, the balconied doors with concrete balustrades stand out. The threshold reinforces the triangular composition of the house and has a decorative finial with a neoclassical influence. This majestic house became the largest in the region and was the setting for many festivals and social events. It has a chapel attached to it.
