Sendares 5 - Ares Seselle

Explore a charming coastal town with rich history, beautiful beaches, scenic trails, and a historic church, perfect for walking or biking adventures.

The route starts from the town of Ares, a small coastal town whose history ranges from the Artabros, a town of which there are numerous vestiges in the area, to the Indiana architecture, which can be seen in numerous and large houses from the early 20th century, owned by those who made their fortune in the Americas, whether in Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba, Argentina ... Very close to the Concello de Ares building and just a few steps from Ares Beach, is Praza da Igrexa, where our route will begin. In it stands the church of San Xosé de Ares, built in 1721 and remodeled at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a route that runs 50% on asphalt and highway and 50% on trails and dirt tracks with a cumulative positive drop of 345m. What makes it a simple and affordable route for everyone. It can be done both on foot and by mountain bike. Another interesting point are the beaches of Ares and Seselle are ideal for a walk while we contemplate the Ares estuary and finally the Rosalía de Castro park, with its small Ponte da Ciscada, a small bridge with a single arch that dates back to the late Age Media (S. XIV) and crosses the Xunqueira river.
