What to See
Centro de Interpretación de Los Andrade
This tower, 18 metres high and 11.50 metres on a side, today the Tourist Office and Interpretation Centre of the Andrade family, is the last remaining part of the Pazo (Palace) of the Andrade family, which completed the walled enclosure of the town on the west side. It was possibly built by Fernán Pérez de Andrade "O Boo" at the end of the 14th century. In 1905 it became the property of the town and in 1911 part of it was demolished to open up Avenida de Lombardero. In 1936, the rest disappeared, making it possible to considerably enlarge the Plaza del Conde. In the 1930s, the coat of arms of Don Ginés Ruiz de Castro Andrade, previously located on the main façade of the manor house, was placed there, and in 1951, the crowning was carried out and the door leading to the Plaza del Conde was opened.
