Faro de Estaca de Bares

This northern lighthouse, the first lit in 1847, offers stunning views, an ornithological observatory, and a unique hotel in a historic maritime signal station.

The most northerly lighthouse of the destination and, moreover, the most northerly on the Peninsula, is Estaca de Bares (Mañón). It was the first in the country to be lit, in 1847. Near the lighthouse there is an ornithological observatory and the Semáforo, an old maritime signal converted into a hotel. The remains of an old US military base are also preserved.

Unspoilt and secluded corner, ideal for sun, water sports and spectacular views. Limited access and little overcrowding guarantee tranquillity.
