Ruta de la Construcción Naval

Explore a unique naval heritage with historic military sites, modern technology, and a scenic boat trip, revealing the rich maritime history of the region.

Since 2011, the Shipbuilding Route has been available in Ferrol. Venturing on this route allows you to enter a world unknown until recently. The military infrastructures combine centuries of history, architecture of great value with the latest technologies currently used by the Navy. The group of buildings constitutes an enormous museum in which to discover the naval history of the Ferrol estuary. There are eight points to visit. The route begins at the Baluarte, in the port of Curuxeiras, and the old Arsenal Weapons Room. Separated from these, the route continues through the Dique de la Campana, the Naval Museum, Exponav and Navantia. Further on, watching over the entrance to the Ferrol estuary, is the Castle of San Felipe, the last point on the route. Its culmination is a boat trip along the estuary, from where all of the above takes on a different colour.
